Fluid Free Ears!

Another bright and early morning in the Giles household....off to the outpatient center at 5:45! What can I say other than Amelia was a champ! We went down to have tubes put in her ears and get her tongue clipped. As many of you already know we opted for the tubes not because of frequent ear infections, but because she has had fluid in her ears for close to 5 of the 7 months of her life. Even though there is no infection it affects her hearing up to 25 additional decibels. We then figured while we had her under lets get her tongue clipped so it does not further delay her speech. Once again I had to be the brave soul to take her back and place her on the OR table. She only let out one cry and was soon asleep. 15 minutes later the Dr. came out to tell us all is well. Within 20 minutes after that we were on our way out (saved an additional $1 on parking for being quick : ) Since we have been home she has been in good spirits for most of the day....just a little tired and not in the eating mood. Next step will be to have her placed in the sound booth in about 4 weeks.
