Well......I am feeling like a fish out of water again!!
Amelia had her hearing booth test today at Atlanta Speech School. NOT GOOD RESULTS. Based on today's results, Amelia's hearing seems to be declining. Since the cause of her hearing loss is genetic, she runs the chance of having progressive hearing loss and becoming deaf. Her ear tubes are in and working properly (no fluid). We will go to her doctor in a week to have other audiology tests run to confirm or deny this finding. Then she might go in for a sedative ABR. Immediate actions would be to turn up her hearing aids and try to stimulate her nerve while it still is operating. Long term this might mean cochlear implants and a more difficult road. This is not ideal. We were just adjusting to hearing aid life. Pray for us to have strength and peace.
