Happy Hearing Aid Day To You!

Today marked the start of a new segment of Amelia's life! She now is the proud owner of a brand new set of baby pink hearing aids! The past few months have been stressful, frustrating, and patience testing, but in the end all worth it. We have had incredible friends, family, kids, and medical care/advice to help us through this time. Even though Amelia did not have the same response as she did when she first got the loaner set she did perk up when this set was turned on (I personally think it is because they matched her outfit) She did test mommy though...Scarlett being the ever so thoughtful and themeful mother coordinated us all in pink this morning (yes myself included : )and even bought Amelia a new game day outfit. As we were walking out the door we couldn't tell if it was the earth shaking or a mudslide, but knew it came from Amelia's bottom...because it came all the way up her back and ruined her new outfit. Mom was upset to say the least. Not about the diaper, but her pictures would not be as pretty as planned : ) On a serious note and all themes aside I must thank Scarlett for being the backbone of our pack during these times, she has made more phone calls, research, appointments, and who knows what else…all with a smile on her face, very little alcohol, and two other little ones pulling at her legs. We are a lucky family to have her! Our next road of the journey is to figure out if Amelia will need tubes or not? She has had fluid in her ears for over a month straight and now two ear infections the latest she is on her 3rd dose of antibiotics. Total in her life she has had fluid for at least half her life and this also distorts her hearing. We will be seeing the Dr. in two weeks to discuss this. Big brother and sister have been very accepting and loving of Amelia throughout and not showed any ill feelings towards all the appts and attention that she has received. All in all this is a very happy day and we feel that another set of prayers have been answered! Thank you all for your continued support and prayers!
