Amelia went to the eye doctor to get her eyes checked on Tuesday. Hearing impaired children sometimes have eye problems as well. Fortunately, everything looked great!! Amelia also had her first therapy/session at the Atlanta Speech School with Linda on Monday. She seemed impressed with Amelia's motor skills and her attention to listening. The purpose of the sessions right now are to teach us how to communicate with Amelia most effectively. We are trying to get her to see that sound is important and to listen. She has to learn to filter what comes into her hearing aids. Hopefully, she will babble more later on.-Scarlett
Amelia has moderate-severe bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. The purpose of this blog is to update friends and family of our journey.
